The following is issued on behalf of the University Grants Committee: At the invitation of the Chief Executive as announced in her Policy Address last October, the Task Force on Review of Research Policy and Funding was immediately set up under the aegis of the University Grants Committee (UGC). The committee shall provide a report no later than 30 April each year to the faculty and administration. This report shall include an evaluation of the current university efforts in promoting effective teaching and a projection of needs forward for two years. III. University Grants. Our Learning Analytics for Programme Review project is funded by the University Grants Committee under the Funding Scheme for Teaching and Learning Related Proposals ( Triennium). It was in existence from until Its functions have now largely been taken over by the higher education funding councils (HEFCE (England), SHEFC (Scotland), HEFCW (Wales), and the Department for Employment.

The Committee is especially interested in programs that involve Harvard University students in community outreach, but does not exclude others from consideration. It is essential to keep in mind that the Committee makes grants for specific purposes rather than for general operating expenses. Grants for salary and staffing costs are rare.
